We at 515 Brewing set out to make great beer for the people of Iowa. And that is what we have done. With a seven-barrel brew system and over 150 (and growing) recipes, brewing innovation isn’t a term we throw around lightly. We live it. From unexpected ingredients to the challenge of making excellent true-to-style classics, 515 crafts high caliber brews. And it’s not just us or our loyal patrons who think so. Two of our beers, Mexican Spring and #Quadgoals, won gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival. Treat yourself and take your taste buds on a beer adventure.
Mexican Spring
We set out to make a beer that tasted like tequila, and Mexican Spring was born. Brewed with agave nectar for a touch of sweetness, with a refreshing twist of lime on the finish. Mexican Spring is a 2016 Great American Beer Festival® gold medal winner in the fruit wheat beer category.
Hive Minded
Tapping End of August - Beginning of September
A marriage between the three classic old world and new world styles of Pilsner beers, this Honey Pilsner borrows the best from the Czech, German and American ways of making delicious Pilsner beer using Pilsner malt, German yeast and American flaked maize. Then we add just a touch of honey malt to give it a subtle honey flavor on the back end. It's straw colored to golden, highly carbonated and 4.5% abv making it a refreshing, crushable, thirst-quenching drink for any time of day or year.
OJ IPA
OJ is a well-balanced wheat pale brewed with Chinook, Citra, Simcoe, Cascade, and Centennial hops for a smooth citrus flavor. With less bitterness than is typical for this type of beer, this is the perfect “entry-level” IPA
Passé
End of August - Early September
You know it. You love it. And it’s coming soon! From 515’s old recipe book and the tongue-in-cheek “Meh” series, Passé is a pale ale single-hopped with Citra, giving it a lively citrus aroma and flavor. As with all pale ales, the fresher they are the better. Keep watch on our socials for when it will tap.
